It was never said to be a six month plan. Its a 6-9 month plan. If its true then it'll be about 9 months after Nightfall, possibly 10 if they make it late August.

A game played entirely in a hot steamy rainforest type environment will be nice. I imagine there will be lots of pyramids.
P.S. According to an X-Files episope I watched years ago, it's Chupacabra and they're similar to vampires.

Hmm I saw something once about chupacabra's. They looked a bit like monkey's, floated in the air and could suddenly disappear... And they only were seen in Mexico.
Hmmm but then again, it was in a program about aliens and stuff... (people who think they saw aliens etc)
Anyway, I'd like to play in a jungle area, something like Istan in Nightfall (there was this jungle like area, and I think the first mission's temple was also in this area). Maybe we'll see traps, or undead-half man/half monkey thingies (I just saw The Mummy Returns :P)
EDIT: Chupacabra literaly meant 'Goat sucker' I think

I don't know, Aug 08 release date sound too far away. Also it doesn't take them that long to get everything together. I mean Chapter 3 (Nightfall) took around 6 to 7 months to make.

Hey, guys,
I don't know who that gentleman is, but he doesn't work for ArenaNet, and I don't think he works for NCsoft in any capacity, either. Which begs the question of why he's being interviewed about our game.
The only information we have at present about Campaign 4 is that there will be a Campaign 4. That's it, honestly!
We have not announced any of the following:- Release date
- Location, Setting, Style, Culture, Theme
- Number of characters
- Title
- Cost
- Prerelease Plans
- Event Plans
- Etc.
In truth, we have not set a release date -- not even internally! So once again, I've no idea where all that "information" came from and I don't believe that it is accurate. (With no disrespect intended to whomever that mysterious interviewee is. )

2 chapters a years could work - they just have to avoid what they did with Factions.
Consider that Factions was halfway done before most people ever even played Prophesies, they made a -lot- of guesses about what people would want before they had true feedback, and they simply guessed wrong.
Nightfall on the other hand shows that they do have the ability to get some of it right - it may not have everything everyone wants, but it does have a lot of things a lot of people wanted.
Now that they have constant feedback, another Factions is not as likely. Possible, but not as likely.
And some of Factions was great. The new professions, conceptually, are very neat - much better concepts than the Dervish and Paragon to me, but one was too hard for the average player to master, and the other too 'secondary' - best at nothing, but good at everything. Funny thing there is that the Ritualist, in that secondary role, would make the perfect 'Hero', and yet is the only profession with no Hero...
But I digress...
Point is, I don't think the idea of two chapters a year is a lost cause, I think they are likely better able to do it now, barring manpower issues, than they were before. The knowledge and community is more in place now.
As for the theme of meseoamerica (Toltec, Aztec, Mayan), I'm all for it, and so is Mel Gibson.
If they time the release right, they could seriously cash in on the Gibson-factor.
Hopefully, it will have a lot of influence in the conquest of the Toltecs by the Aztec rather than the half-century later Cortez parade... (where the Toltec majority overthrew their Aztec conquerers using Cortez as a proxy).
The Toltec struggle is just more interesting, and less known north of the Rio Grande.

Actually it is a six month plan. I believe the earliest I've seen mention of the six month plan was an article from E3 2003.

emphasis mine, dutch dude <> north america, you get my point.
And the interviewer clearly says "easy interactive"...
(Dutch is my native language, just FYI)
Anyway, I read Gaile's post in here. I have more trust in her words than those of "Michel from Easy Interactive".
So I'm calling it BS, meant as filler for whatever site this came from
Glad too, august 2007 is just... too long to wait, for me anyways

I was about to post a full transcript of what the guy said in english but seeing as its not real i wont bother, even when looking at the movie i was thinking : this guy cant be real, i mean hes not saying anything new at all.
I mean if they were to interview me or anyone that has played long enough and keep track of gaile and stuff, would be able to give more info then him :|
Seems to me just some random guy , possibly plays GW and decided to do as if he was Anet/NCSoft and give info which any player could have done.

Completely off topic, but I'm predicting a hasty close anyway...
Chupacabras are actually kinda creepy if you watch a late night (say, midnight-2 am) discovery channel exposé about them. And you're alone, and it's cold, and you're tired... Y'know?

So if I asked the question to Gaile that this guy's, speculation was a total flat out lie? This includes the theme and release date. You see the problem is for me is that sometimes there are disgruntle employees or people, who know other people in Arena Net or NC-Soft (usually coming out of R&D). I don’t know how they do it but most things that get tied up in the supposed, “vault” get out by these muskrats. Believe me when I say I totally hate those people for giving out information before the companies can assets the problems. No one wants to go through some super hyped trail and no one wants to be let down.

One chapter.. nothings confirmed.. According to the current scheme.. A game should be expected in April (Factions) And another in october (Nightfall) thus going with the 6 months theme.

Ok well atleast its not just some guy, but still makes you wondering why this person would do this?It still makes me think this person just picked up stuff here and there and talked about it.
I mean on these very forums we have talked about the next chapter possibly being aztec/mayans and about the 1 in the next year, he could just be following logic as he said, 1 in the first year 2 in second, so you could assume 1 next year again and 2 the year after that.

This is all a ploy by Mel Gibson to promote his new Apocalypto movie
